- Windows zip 2.1 MB · no published checksum
Release notes for 0.4.2
Fixes for problems introduced in 0.4.1, and clearer handling of very quiet audio.
Fixes
- Fully zoomed in, a view could occasionally be ignored and the trace look coarse until the next change. It no longer is.
- Multi and Compare no longer keep making frames after you pan a frozen view in Sec mode and switch to Beats.
- Panning a frozen view stops exactly where the held audio does, and every lane stays drawn at the furthest point.
- Compare keeps searching all tracks when one of them has only just started playing.
- The red cancellation shading no longer marks unrelated tracks, such as double-tracked guitars, as cancelling; it shows where tracks cancel strongly.
- In Beats mode Peak, RMS and frequency measure the Mid again, as in 0.4.0, instead of the left channel.
- The trigger marker stays in the right lane when lanes are added or a track turns mono, and the view buttons stay disabled where they don't apply.
- Compare's window leaves room for the sum lane even with no other track checked.
- Short beat spans keep every lane drawn during tempo changes.
- Offsets of a sample or two show at any sample rate ("+0.0026 ms" at 384 kHz).
- The editor comes back after a crash even if its page had not finished loading.
Quiet audio
- Readouts (Peak, RMS, hover, level cursors) now show levels down to −120 dBFS, so converter and analog noise floors read as numbers; only quieter signals read −∞.
- The summing gain shows nulls down to −140 dB, so a deep cancellation shows its depth. Tracks that never play together show "—" instead of 0.0 dB.
- Compare and the frequency readout ignore audio below −90 dBFS RMS, such as 16-bit dither.
Requirements
- macOS 13.1 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
- Or Windows 10 or later, x64 or ARM64, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (included with Windows 11 and current Windows 10).
- A VST3 host. See HOSTS.md for the hosts tested so far.
Projects saved with earlier versions open with their settings unchanged.

Release notes for 0.4.1
A reliability and polish release: fixes found by a review of the whole plugin, and much wider test coverage.
Fixes
- Multi and Compare during tempo changes: a lane could stay blank after a tempo ramp until the tempo moved further. Every lane now keeps drawing.
- The editor on macOS recovers by itself when macOS ends its page process under memory pressure, instead of staying blank until reopened. It also stays on its own page when a link or file is dropped on it, and no longer shows a browser context menu.
- Silence reads as −∞ everywhere: any level at or below −100 dBFS, such as a sum that cancels exactly or a dither floor, instead of numbers like −332.2 dB. Compare no longer analyses tracks that are only that quiet.
- Frequency shows a dash for noise and other signals that don't repeat steadily, instead of a made-up pitch. The hover readout follows the same rule, and agrees with the frequency readout on signals with a DC offset.
- Readouts near unit boundaries show what they round to ("1 s", not "1.00e+3 ms"), a peak just under full scale reads 0.0, and offsets of a sample or two show.
- Typed values are read in each field's own units: Concert pitch accepts "Hz", and a time typed into Vertical is refused.
- Cancelling: the summing gain's colour, the red shading and the help now agree on what "cancels" means (more than 1 dB below what unrelated tracks would give).
- Preview fix in Sec mode measures the fix only where the shifted tracks have audio, so the gain no longer reads too low at short spans.
- Mono tracks show one lane, with R, M and S disabled, and the trigger marker in that lane.
- Panning a frozen view stops where the held audio does.
- A change of sample rate with the editor open is picked up.
- In Beats mode, the readouts measure the top view on show instead of a hidden trigger source.
- The editor's minimum height leaves room for stacked views in Single mode too.
- Lanes without a host colour each get their own colour, none of them the sum lane's.
- The mouse wheel: Shift steps values finely on the Mac too, and one notch zooms by the same step on every system.
- Time span and Hold-off step finely with Shift, as the help says.
Requirements
- macOS 13.1 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
- Or Windows 10 or later, x64 or ARM64, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (included with Windows 11 and current Windows 10).

Release notes for 0.4.0
What's new
- Windows. O-Scope now runs on Windows 10 and 11, x64 and ARM64, in one bundle.
- Compare view (beta). Check tracks to sum them with this track and see the summing gain. Each track shows its offset, polarity and correlation against this track. Preview fix shows the sum with those offsets and flips applied.
- Hover readout. Point at the trace to read the time and level there; extra measuring readouts are available.
- Sixteen lanes and longer spans. The Multi view shows up to 16 tracks, and tempo-synced spans reach 16 bars. The window grows so every stacked lane fits its label.
- Smoother drawing. 60 frames a second on 60 Hz to 165 Hz displays, with less CPU spent per frame.
Fixes
- Wheel zoom and pan work with mice that scroll by lines or pages.
- The focus ring shows on pressed buttons.
- The UI uses the same embedded fonts on every system.
Requirements
- macOS 13.1 or later (up from 13.0), on Apple silicon or Intel.
- Or Windows 10 or later, x64 or ARM64, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (included with Windows 11 and current Windows 10).
- A VST3 host. See HOSTS.md for the hosts tested so far.

Release notes for 0.3.0
What's new
- Multi-track view. Switch an O-Scope to Multi in the top bar to see every track that has O-Scope inserted, each in its own lane in its track colour and labelled with its name, or overlaid with a legend. Lanes line up in time: on the beat grid in Beats mode, and on this track's trigger in Sec mode. Freeze, auto-freeze, zoom and cursors work across all lanes, up to 8 tracks.
- Groups A–D. Every instance belongs to a group, chosen in the top bar; the Multi view shows its group's tracks, so separate comparisons stay apart.
Notes
- The Multi view needs all O-Scope instances in one process, the default in every major host. Hosts that can run each plugin separately (Bitwig's "Individually" mode, REAPER's "Dedicated process") show each instance alone.
- For lanes to line up, put O-Scope last on each track: latency added after it shifts the track.
- Each lane shows its track's Mid; the channel views apply in Single mode.
- Projects saved with earlier versions open with their settings unchanged, in Single mode and group A.
Requirements
macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel, and a VST3 host.

What's new
- Time and level cursors. Two vertical cursors measure the time between them, its frequency with the nearest note and cent offset, and the length in beats in Beats mode. Two horizontal cursors read levels in dBFS and the difference in dB. Cursors snap to zero crossings and peaks; hold ⌥ to place them freely.
- Auto-freeze. When on, the display freezes as the host stops and goes live again when it plays.
- Help. The ? button at the top right turns on tooltips that explain every control.
- A vertical scale in dB, with level lines every 3 dB down from the top.
- Beats mode is the default, with a 1-bar span; Sec mode now starts at 1 s.
Improvements and fixes
- In Beats mode, earlier drawing stays in place when the transport jumps (stop and play, loops, relocations) instead of shifting sideways.
- Trigger controls are disabled in Beats mode, where they do not apply.
- The trigger settings open above the Trigger group.
- The whole control strip is always shown: the window opens at 900 × 500 and does not shrink below 820 px wide.
- The plugin bundle shows as a single item in Finder.
